Turn Off Your Hand Phone Please
The progress of communication technology has made man increasingly dependent on mobile phones. Now, almost every person is always accompanied this device at every opportunity. However, we must remain vigilant. Because cell phones can also be bad for humans. These impacts can be related to health to safety.
In addition, there are several locations that were not friendly with this gadget, especially security and safety reasons. And, one of the places where mobile phones are prohibited from ‘on’ is in the aircraft cabin.
So far there are few reports of accidents of commercial aircraft, which after investigation, is caused by mobile phones. One of them is a Crossair plane accident. The aircraft fell shortly after take off at the airport in Zurich, Switzerland, and claimed the lives of ten passengers. The investigation of this incident revealed that the accident occurred due to a problem with the steering system caused flight mobile phone signal.
Another is happening with Slovenia Air plane. This aircraft had an emergency landing because the alarm sounds and there is interference on the navigation system. Apparently, this problem occurs because the device in a cabin that is still in a state ‘on’ alias active.
Besides mobile phones, there are a number of other electronic devices that may interfere with the performance of aircraft. This happened on Qantas plane which suddenly tilted and climb again as high as 700 feet, a moment will land at London’s Heathrow airport. Later in mind, it was not caused by cell phone, but by a portable computer, CD player, and electronic game consoles that are not turned off by passengers.
ARS (Aviation Safety Reporting System) states that mobile phone signals or other gadgets can cause interference with aircraft communications and navigation systems. It can be a direction that deviated flight, interference with the frequency of communication, disruption of fuel indicator and automatic steering systems, and other disorders.
For that, we should be more disciplined and wise in the use of mobile phones, especially when traveling by plane. Before entering the cabin the aircraft do not just change the ‘profile’ phones on the menu ‘silent’ or ‘vibrate’ only. But make sure to turn off your cellular phone. You can re-enable new mobile phone after being in the airport terminal building.
And you need not doubt admonish others who still use or activate their phones when the cabin. All this for your own safety and all that is in the plane. Have a safe flight.
